THE third and final round of the 2002 Penrith Swimming Club championship was held on Saturday and winners were:

8 years: 25m backstroke, girls Hannah Jones, 22.84sec. Boys Jay Johnson, 23.88.

9 years: 25m butterfly, girls Sophie Bradley, 22.00. Boys Adam Huggon, 25.01. 25m freestyle, girls Sophie Bradley, 19.09. Boys Arran Pamphillon, 20.46.

10 years: 50m breaststroke, girls Lois Wharton, 45.73. Boys Martin Heath, 49.54.

11-12 years: 100m butterfly, girls Laura Huggon, 1.35.11. Boys Allan Armstrong, 1.27.37. 100m freestyle, girls Laura Huggon, 1.18.96. Boys Allan Armstrong, 1.18.67.

13-14 years: 4x50m individual medley, girls Naomi Smith, 3.04.96. Boys Stewart Marshall, 3.04.29. 100m backstroke, girls Naomi Smith, 1.23.83. Boys Stewart Marshall, 1.24.43.

Ladies’ open: 100m breaststroke Naomi Smith, 1.28.75. Men’s open: 100m breaststroke Danny Smith, 1.19.93.

Ladies and girls 11 years and over: 50m freestyle Naomi Smith, 31.86. 50m butterfly Rebecca Robinson, 37.22. Men and boys 11 years and over Jon Fletcher, 27.65. 50m butterfly Colin Slee, 30.80.

The evening concluded with a win in the Schools’ Shield for the Ullswater Community College A team of Danny Smith, Naomi Smith, Dan White and Colin Slee in the mixed 4x50m freestyle team relay, in a time of 2.03.43.

Thanks went to all the competitors who took part over the three galas and the band of dedicated volunteer officials.
