Supporting Brain Tumour Research

Brain Tumours have affected the lives of two Penrith Swimming Club members. In 2016, we collectively swam the distance of all the lakes in the Lake District and in 2018 we swam the distance to Newcastle RVI and back as one young swimmer was receiving treatment there at the time. We have raised over £15,000 for Brain Tumour Research to support their quest of finding a cure for the biggest cause of death, of all cancers, in children & adults under 40.

Additional Information

The Penrith To Penrith Challenge starts on the 1st June 2021, remember to log miles as you go. You can complete your miles however you wish using any mode of travelling except miles using a motorised vehicle.

You can log your miles by pen & paper using our miles tracker or using your favourite apps such as Strava or Runkeeper. Many smartwatches also record miles and you can view a summary by week or month. We don’t need detailed evidence of every mile you complete (if you say that you have completed your miles then that’s good enough for us).

The challenge ends at midnight on the 30th June 2021. Team captains must submit the total miles via this form. We expect all those taking part to abide by all health advisements and restrictions in your area prior to undertaking any physical activity.

If you are located in an area that does not allow outdoor activity, you may not participate except by means of virtual or indoor activity (i.e., treadmill run, static bike activity, static rowing activity, etc.).
