At the 2025 Cumbria County Championships, Cumbria ASA saw a change in leadership as Rosie Huggon of Penrith Swimming Club officially handed over the presidency to Ian Richardson of Copeland Swimming Club. Ian was presented with his chain of office during the event, marking the beginning of his two year tenure as Cumbria ASA President.

Rosie has served as Cumbria ASA President for the past two years, dedicating her time and expertise to representing the county and supporting the growth of swimming across Cumbria. A long-standing member of Penrith Swimming Club, Rosie has been a committed advocate for the sport, ensuring the smooth running of events, supporting swimmers, and strengthening the association’s presence within the swimming community.

During her presidency, Rosie played a crucial role in promoting swimming at all levels, encouraging young athletes, and working alongside clubs to enhance opportunities for swimmers across the county. Her leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact, and Cumbria ASA extends its heartfelt thanks for her hard work and commitment.

Incoming president Ian Richardson brings a wealth of experience from his involvement with Copeland ASC. His dedication to the sport and his leadership within his local swimming community make him well-suited for the role. Cumbria ASA looks forward to Ian’s contributions in guiding the association into the future.
